Statement

"I'm disappointed the Legislature was unable to muster the support needed to extend federal assistance for jobless Arizonans. Legislation crafted by my office would have preserved this aid for as many as 45,000 Arizona families, while ensuring that nearly $3.5 million a week in federal aid continued to flow into the local economy. I remain concerned and deeply saddened for those families whose unemployment assistance will shortly expire, especially in this uncertain job market.

"While this Special Session did not accomplish what was intended, I remain committed to working with the Legislature to advance an agenda that moves Arizona forward."
